Enviro Wiki PRIVACY POLICY VERSION 1 Adopted December 17, 2015


Collection, Use and Sharing

Enviro Wiki collects no personally identifiable information about registered users. The wiki will only maintain information you provide when establishing your account including:

  • Username
  • Password
  • Email address (optional)
  • Real name (optional)

Enviro Wiki maintains ownership and protection of all pages created and will publish contact information for page contributors with their consent.

Enviro Wiki does not use your personal information or share any personal information with third parties.

This wiki does provide links to other websites. ERWiki is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other sites. Any links that leave our site are indicated with the conventional arrow in a box icon ( 600px-External.svg .png ) .

Any personal information a registered user posts to the wiki is public. Such information is the responsibility of the user and not protected by this policy.

Access, Choice and Control

Data collected through the registration process is necessary to maintain login and to be enabled as a contributor. Users may choose to read Enviro Wiki content anonymously without login credentials or privileges. Registered users may change their password, real name (if given), signature, email options (if given) at any time by accessing the Preferences tab on the upper right menu bar.

Security

Enviro Wiki does not collect any sensitive information (e.g., credit card data). Login credentials are stored in the system database and not accessible to other users. If you use a weak password, you could be hacked. Strong password use is encouraged.

Redress

If you feel the privacy policy has not been properly enforced, you may contact the Enviro Wiki Team using the Contact Form.

Updates

When Enviro Wiki's Privacy Policy changes, all updates will be posted on this page.

Cookies

Cookies are required to log in and link your edits to a user account. Cookies are not required to read or edit Enviro Wiki. A temporary session cookie is set at login and expires when your browser exits or after an inactivity timeout. A cookie will be saved for the user name and account ID that you last used to log in to make subsequent logins easier. The cookie expires after 180 days. A cookie will be saved to authenticate the user if you check the "remember my password" box on the login form. The cookie expires after 180 days, or is removed if you log out.
